How to Choose a PhD Dissertation Topic

Online PhD Programs Articles : How to Choose a PhD Dissertation Topic by Daniel Millions

You have finally come almost full circle. You are now going to be writing your PhD dissertation. This is none other than a formal, lengthy document that you will be arguing in the defense of a specific thesis. A thesis is defined as a hypothesis or conjecture.
First of all, you are going to have to do research that will support your particular thesis. The research must be original and substantial, and your dissertation must prove that it is so. To put it another way, a dissertation will highlight all original contributions.

You will usually begin with the scientific method before actually writing your dissertation. This means that you will begin with a hypothesis and then collect data to either support of deny its claim. This is the hardest part of writing your paper that of organizing the evidence and all of the associated discussions into a logical form.

The main substance of a dissertation does not lie in the experimental data but in critical thinking. The main things that are at the heart of a dissertation are analysis and concepts. When you write a dissertation you are concentrating on principles. You are stating the lessons that are learned from the principles and not just the facts behind them.

Generally speaking, each statement in a dissertation should be supported by either an original work or by a reference to scientific literature that has been published. Moreover, you should just not be content with repeating the details of analysis and critical thinking found in published sources. You must use the results as fact and then refer your readers to the source in order for them to gain further knowledge.

You must always be sure to use correct grammar in a dissertation. Your paper must also satisfy the rules of formal grammar. Therefore, you should use no contractions, no slurs, no hidden jokes, no colloquialisms, no technical jargon that cannot be defined and no slang. You must be explicitly clear as you write your dissertation. The words that you use in your dissertation must convey exactly the meaning that is intended. Each statement must also be correct and defensible in a scientific and logical sense. The discussions in your paper must be able to satisfy stringent rules of logic that are applied to science and mathematics.

What One Should Learn From Writing a Dissertation: There is a need for scientists to communicate discoveries. When you write a PhD dissertation, this provides training so that you are able to communicate with other scientists. This process also requires you to organize technical discussion, being able to think deeply, to follow rules for the formal presentation of arguments as well as discussions and to try to come up with arguments that will convince others of the relevancy of your thesis.

The committee that will look at your dissertation will consist of approximately four to nine researchers both in and outside of your designated field. Each committee member has a certain duty to fulfill.

Make sure that you take the constructive criticism of your thesis adviser to heart. He or she has a very important job. It is to give you assurance that you will do just fine. If you make sure to follow the helpful suggestions outlined above, you will be successful at delivering your dissertation.

Tips For Writing A Phd Dissertation

PhD Articles : Tips For Writing A Phd Dissertation by Daniel Millions

It seems that many of our college bound students these days are not satisfied with only getting their Bachelor's degree. Many are continuing on to get their Masters and then their PhD. I thought I would like to give a few tips when you come up against writing your PhD dissertation.

INTRODUCTION

Research is not only about discovery, but it is about the testing of hypotheses and ideas. Through inquiry and exploration, you lay down the establishment of facts. The outcome of the research is new knowledge. This leads to the improved understanding of mechanisms as well as the making of new and improved procedures. To make sure that the use of the research results is maximized, the results must be made known or disseminated in a proper manner.

There are a great many ways to circulate research results. You have guessed it! The production of a research dissertation is one of them. Even though a research dissertation is one of the usual criteria for an academic degree program that includes a research element, it is also used for student assessment. Don't make the mistake of making your dissertation into just a beefed-up laboratory report.

Its writing should be in such a way that the results presented can be validated and should be able to form the basis for additional investigations. You must justify any procedures that you adopt, claims and conclusions will have to be supported by experiments or by deductions or reasoned arguments. A research dissertation is unlike any other reports in that it is the culmination of either several months or even years of work. Writing a dissertation requires some planning, thought and organization.

Ideas, Guidelines and Tips

Layout refers to the kind of presentation format that you want your dissertation to follow. This is often dictated by regulations or institutional guidelines. There are many reasons why one should opt to have a standard layout.

1. You will be able to see copies of dissertations from institutional libraries. There is a standard look and feel to a layout wherein it maintains corporate identity.

2. You can be assured that when the publication is bound, the contents will not be destroyed or obscured because pages have to be trimmed.

Here are some important features that you will want to include in your layout.

Size of page margins and spacing between the lines

Formats of

- Title page - Contents list - Appendices - Reference list - Figures, illustrations and tables

Numbering system for

- Chapters as well as sections - Pages - Table captions and figures - Equations

Font-styles for

- Chapters and section headings - Other text - Table captions and figures - Equations - Quotations - Citations

How are your references going to be cited? How are you going to cite tables, figures and equations? The decision as to whether the dissertation should be written in a certain tense or person

Reference List

As was previously mentioned, the way you compile your Reference list depends upon the kind of citation style that you use. One of the most common things that confuse first-time writers of dissertations is how to cite references. These are basically the two most common methods as to how you cite published work.

The number system references are listed in the order in which they have been cited. The name-year system references are usually listed alphabetically. Consistency is the key so you should stick to one of these styles.

Hopefully, these tips will help you formulate your dissertation. Remember to allow yourself much time, thought and energy to this process and you will come out a winner.

Online Graduate Phd Degree: Advanced Degrees In The Internet Age

Online Phd Degree: Advanced Degrees In The Internet Age by sheila danzig

Frankly, we all have different lifestyles and needs, and the old-fashioned methods of obtaining college degrees are not appropriate for everyone. Luckily, online Ph.D. degree programs are available via the Internet so that even those with the busiest lives can take advantage of them.
Gone are the days of commuting. There will be no more parking tickets. Spending too much time perusing the shelves of campus book stores is a thing of the past. Part-time studies or online courses have made it much easier for people to go to college, using distance learning programs. The amount of work will stay the same, which is what you want. What you want and what you will achieve from an online graduate phd degree course is an honest and fair education experience.

The only real differences is the fact that you no longer have to commute to and from campus while trying to keep up with an impossibly full schedule of work, family, school, and all the other things you may have going on in your life. When life wasn't so hectic, on-site college classes were a piece of cake. This still holds true for many today. But for a lot of others, there's no time available in your life to add a full-time college schedule.

Education is still very important to students today, even with all the changes in the world. Many students have to work jobs to support themselves and their families. Some own or rent their own places but there are still a lot who are working at home.

Many people don't have the time or resources to get to the classroom, so they are simply getting online degrees. They don't want to sacrifice the quality of their education so they can move up in the world, and they don't want to sacrifice quality time with their family, either.

If you want to get an online graduate phd degree, look into the programs on university sites. This effort could open the door to the realization of your fondest dream. Wouldn't you just love to finally attend your own college graduation without having spent all your money to get there? Think about how nice it would be to study in the comfort and convenience of your home or apartment, working according to your specific time constraints. It may have seemed impossible for years., but now pupils have this option. Go take a look for yourself - the answers can be found right on your computer screen.

3 Things You Should Know To Write Your PhD Dissertation

Online PhD Programs Articles : 3 Things You Should Know To Write Your PhD Dissertation by lori blake

Writing a PhD dissertation is an extremely lengthy task. It requires and demands originality. You must discuss a problem which was not investigated earlier and therefore should be unique. In this article, I am going to discuss three common things that students should know when they start writing their dissertations.

PhD Dissertation Related to Master's Dissertation?

Your PhD dissertation doesn't have to be related to your Master's dissertation at all. If you have written your dissertation on a particular topic in your Master's program and would like to choose a completely different topic for your PhD dissertation then you may do that. It's not a problem at all.

You should actually aim to choose a different topic for your PhD dissertation because when you start your PhD and get ready to write your dissertation, you might not be interested in your Master's dissertation topic. However your Master's dissertation can be a starting point for your PhD dissertation but it is a significantly different and focused work which demands originality and uniqueness.

Dissertation Topic:

Write your PhD dissertation on a topic that you find interesting and in which you want to become an expert. Then try to slowly narrow it down. If there is a particular topic that can make you scream with happiness whenever it's discussed, go for it. Also, choose a topic that will give you an edge when you are ready to apply for a job. Do consider the job market. So, talk to your advisor and professors about it.

It Should Take As Long As It Should:

There is no hard and fast rule that you should finish your PhD dissertation in 4 years or 5 years. However, some universities might ask to finish your degree within 8 years. If you are dedicated and focused then you should be able to finish writing it in 12 months. But if you are required to observe something for 2, 3 years or more then of course you can't finish it in a year. Remember, you can't afford to sacrifice the quality of your dissertation just to complete it early. If you have a definite plan and you stick to it then you will finish your dissertation much earlier than you think.

Your PhD dissertation has to be new and should be about something never researched before. It is not an easy task but it's not impossible either. Stay away from copy-pasting and stay in touch with your advisor and professors. Make a plan and stick to it, you will be done before you know it!!

Benefits of Doing An Online PhD Course

Online PhD Programs Articles : Benefits of Doing An Online PhD Course by Kelly Hunter

Any university degree is worth having, even more so are the advanced degrees such as the PhD's because these sort of degrees certify you as an authority in any field which you decide to specialize in. These fields may vary in nature but if you have a PhD you tend to set yourself apart from the rest in your field and increase your capacity for potential and future earnings. Few people can boast of having a PhD degree with no employment or career prospects as an advanced degree almost always guarantees some better form of career placement. This career placement better positions you in any career or occupation where you decide to place yourself.
PhD's aren't all about career advancement and earning a bigger paycheck. In any field which you choose to get your PhD, there will be specialists imbued with such knowledge who can help you by telling you more about what you need to know in your field of learning. The level of knowledge that you get will also help you in deciding how best to proceed with any future career prospects. Sometimes in different work scenarios we need some differentiation between others who have more or less the same skills and capabilities that we possess. By getting and additional degree you give yourself an edge over other people.

There are different places where an individual can get a PhD degree. You can enroll in an institution of higher learning for such purposes. These institutions of higher learning have different faculties and different courses which you can enroll in all in order to get the knowledge that you desire. Most people however have problems with finding a university to enroll in, in their immediate neighborhoods, part of the reasons limiting their ability to enroll for these programs is largely due to their employment constraints.

For people who have these constraints in terms of getting the education that they need, they can easily enroll for higher learning courses online. Enrolling for these courses online will give you the ability to get your degree flexibly. All you have to do is have an internet connection and a computer with which to download your course material where you will. You can also submit your assignments and any project material that you have to submit through these same means. Attendance at the physical campuses of most online institutions is hardly necessary. You can get your degree while you're at home or in the office, it's all up to you.

There are different benefits to getting a PhD degree online; these different benefits include the flexibility in terms of scheduling and the cost issues. Getting a PhD online is cheaper than getting the degree by physically attending the institution. You save money from everything from the costs of tuition to the money you also save on transportation visiting one institution of higher learning or the other. Most schools also require that people physically attending courses in such institutions pay fees and dues for other unnecessary activities. As an individual taking a degree online you are usually exempted from auxiliary fees dues and other unnecessary payments that you'd have to make.

About Online Phd Degree

Distance Learning Online PhD Programs : About Online Phd Degree by James Gunaseelan

Have you ever wished that you could go a bit further with the knowledge that you got from your master's degree? Indeed, education is very important, and can also make all the difference when it comes to getting a job promotion. However, you have a hectic schedule, and as such you do not know when you could possibly fit in more study time. Now you have more of a choice, because you can get your PHD degree online!

The first thing that you need to do if you feel like getting a PHD degree online is for you is to figure out if this particular degree is available for your intended area of study. For example, you will have an easier time getting an online PHD degree in English than you would in one of the applied sciences. However, with the internet becoming more and more advanced every day, this also means that more programs of study are becoming available!

The next thing that you need to do is find an online PHD degree program that is actually accredited. If a program seems like it is too good to be true, it just might be. You really need to do your homework when it comes to finding out if the online school you are looking it has the proper accreditation. In order to find this information out, you need to be savvy when it comes to the overall information you get from the internet.

For example, if you happen to be checking your e-mail one day, and a pop up ad for an online PHD degree, chances are that the program might not be legitimate. Start by visiting the websites of colleges that are known in the real world - especially look into your local colleges and universities. The reason for this is that many colleges are now starting to have an online counterpart for degrees, with the proviso that you come to their campus for meetings, etc. one in a while.

Thus, begin the research process by going to your local library and seeking out the educational section. With the internet becoming such an integral part of today's society, there are more and more books becoming available that have to do with online degree programs. Other things that you will need to consider are the program costs, and the amount of time it will take to get the degree. Will it affect current career opportunities that you have? You are sure to become more informed about PHD online degrees with the proper research.

Understanding Different Kinds of PhD Courses

PhD Program Articles : Understanding Different Kinds of PhD Courses by Kip Goldhammer

PhD literally stands for Doctor of Philosophy. The initials can also be written as Ph.D. This is the most advanced degree that requires generally 3-8 years of study beyond receiving Bachelor's degree. However, the term PhD is a misnomer. It is not necessary for PhD candidates to study only philosophy as the degree's initial stand for. In fact, many candidates study some other science or different liberal fields related to arts. The title of 'doctor' is also not always used, and in countries like US, it is essentially honorary. Frequently, teachers having degree of PhD are labeled as 'Professor' so as not to get confused with medical doctors.

There are many complementary programs, which involve similar period of studies and take place once a candidate is awarded with the bachelor's degree. These include the Doctor of Education (D.Ed.), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctors of Arts (DA) and Doctor of Law (JD). These titles can be earned in place of the PhD degree. Moreover, some of the institutes now offer specialized titles that are equivalent to those given in PhD courses.

PhD work in any subject is quite a challenging task. One must have a clearly defined academic records and should perform well on the GRE - Graduate Record Examinations in both; one's specialty and also in the common test. They must have excellent grades, recommendations and scholastic record of accomplishment in schooling, college and post graduation in order to get into the PhD programs.

In major cases, those pursuing PhD courses in science or liberal arts can spend anywhere from 1-3 years studying advanced levels in their specialized or chosen fields. Usually, time spent on advanced levels tends to be less if one has his or her Master's degree in the same field.

However, some of the programs are so tough that they do not accept the candidates who do not have their Master's degree in the field they want to apply. Others are more likely to accept all the applications from the candidates with only Bachelor's degree but with higher ranks. Therefore, the decision on whom to accept for PhD courses may vary from institute to institute.

Once the course of PhD is completed successfully, candidates are awarded with the degree. Either PhD people may work as professors, lab assistants or they can be employed as research fellows in the field they have mastered. PhD degree holders are generally placed in good and reputed institutes like business schools, medical colleges and other biological research institutes. Any sector, private or government, can recruit PhD fellows. So there is no dearth of lucrative positions for people who have completed their doctorate degrees.

Studies in other countries for doctorate degrees are almost similar to US standards, though slight difference does exist. For instance, most of the European countries offer rigorous courses of study for PhD those are equivalent, or more challenging as compared to US PhD programs. However, most of the countries across the world generally accept the PhD status of those who have their degrees from any reputed and recognized institution, irrespective of country or region.

PhD Courses - Distance Learning Is Quite Possible

Online PhD Courses - Distance Learning Is Quite Possible by Kip Goldhammer

Distance learning gives you the great benefit to self-pace learning at your convenient time and at your convenient place. Unlike campus-based studies, distance learning does not require your presence in the classroom. You need not join any educational institute that requires you to attend every lecture or seminar and you still get qualification certificates approved by education boards. You can search for institutes offering PhD programs on the Internet, magazines and even in local newspapers. You need to look for a well-established government-approved institute.

All reputed educational institutes having distance learning facility are extremely helpful for those who want to study but don't have time to attend class regularly physically. There could be many reasons for that, such as jobs, businesses, disabilities and more commonly, cutting down the cost of the course such as the cost of accommodation, food and transportation. Another reason to go for distance learning PhD programs include the perceived quality of the program, prerequisites and delivery format of study material and different assignments.

The doctorate degree is the highest degree in the world that is awarded after verifying a student's caliber and mastery over particular subject. The degree makes a person eligible to enter into the research field. The creative research during the studies is called as the doctoral thesis or dissertation. Online PhD courses are generally more professional as compared to the academic programs offered by different universities.

Many universities offer custom designed PhD programs in which, admission is given based on personal educational record with a bachelor and master's degree. There are a lot of considerations to pass through when one wants an admission for PhD offering institutes. Once a candidate meets all requirements, fees are paid to the institute (online or any other option) and the study material is sent through post. There are institutes, which provide study material online that needed to be downloaded from the Internet. Many PhD programs include audio-visual presentations in their study-materials.

Tests, exams and other communications are conducted through the Internet or via post. You are given a registration number that is to be entered each time you submit an assignment or appear for exams. You can also submit your thesis and other course-related work online directly to the institute. There are many subjects on which PhD programs are offered. Some of the most famous subjects include psychology, medicine, business management, mathematics, astronomy and many more. Once a candidate is awarded with the PhD degree, it makes a lot of difference in his or her career. The remunerations and designations of people completing their doctorates are markedly higher than those in other professions. And in the final run, it does not really matter if the PhD courses have been done in the classroo

A PhD or Just Enormous Debt?

PhD Articles : A PhD or Just Enormous Debt? by Nick Stoianov

According to a study by the National Science Foundation (www.nsf.gov) only 45 percent of the students entering doctoral programs successfully finish and receive their degrees. Many of those students fund their graduate journey with enormous student loans--in some cases, well in excess of $100,000. This is a huge amount, especially for those who get nothing in return. Once dropped out, students have to start paying back the loans for their aborted education. Adding insult to injury, many of these students get derailed years into the endeavor--after all their coursework is completed and they have only one hurdle--the dissertation--left. Why? The dissertation is an intensely emotional and challenging experience for students, their friends and families, and their advisors. One doctoral student explained, "I get frozen. My goal looks impossible and impractical and I shut down. Managing anxiety, building a thicker skin and learning what you need are important. I needed a whole year just to deal with that. The biggest waste of time is worrying whether I'll be able to finish as well as sitting outside myself and thinking 'Why don't you have any friends? It's Friday night--why are you at home writing?' If I could have condensed all those thoughts, I could have been done a year ago." From lacking understanding or preparation for the task, to having difficulties managing their motivation, to challenges gaining support and communicating effectively with their faculty, students can face one challenge after another. One faculty member in a doctoral psychology program remarked, "Most of the problems come up with people that just don't learn basic research. They don't really know what they're doing." A doctoral student in a prestigious linguistics doctoral program shared, "I don't think any of the writing tasks we did prepared me to write a dissertation. Not at all." In response to these challenges, coaches and consultants who have weathered the storm are emerging to help others complete their journey successfully. For example, Graduate Research Coaching, a division of Koepp Research Corporation (http://www.koeppcorp.com), offers comprehensive services to help masters and doctoral students produce their best work. Since 2002, the company has supported more than 200 graduate students from across the United States, Canada, Europe, and China in completing their theses and dissertations and earning their coveted degrees. For these students who get help, their loans become a worthy investment, indeed.

Pursuing PhD Universities and the PhD Degree

PhD Articles : Pursuing PhD Universities and the PhD Degree by Matt Murren

Are you one of those that is never satisfied with your education? You have your Master's degree, now what do you do? For many the next step is to pursue a PhD degree. This starts with a review of the different PhD Universities available to you. There are many PhD Universities and PhD Programs so you must take your time and find the best fit for you.

To obtain your PhD you must select your field and take advanced courses in your area of study. Typically you take smaller seminars, study independently with a distance learning or online program. The courses typically take three (3) to four (4) semesters of full time study.

Now the fun begins..After your coursework is completed, the doctoral student must pass a written or oral qualifying exam. This provides evidence that the candidate has sufficient expertise in the subject matter to proceed with his/her independent research.

How does the the qualifying exam work?

Usually the qualifying exam is given by a committee. For most PhD Universities this consists of three to five professors in the candidate's program who have agreed to guide the doctoral students research. The PhD candidate starts his/her original research and writes a book size thesis or dissertation on the research. When this is complete, the candidate must oraly defend the positions stated in the research before the committee. After the candidate has ben the oral exam with the given PhD University, the title of "doctor" will have been earned.

How do I select the PhD University right for me?

Finding a good fit for you will take research in its own right. Many times the PhD University you select will depend on what field you are studying as many Universities specialize in different areas such as Business, Economics, Psychology, Medicine etc..

The other factor you may want to consider is if distance learning or online learning is a good fit for you and your PhD Degree pursuit. This isn't for everyone.

Simply sit down, open up your web browser and make a list of your top 5-10 PhD Universities that are a good fit in your area of study. Start by marking down the pro's and con's and consider things such as relocation, prestige, financial impacts etc..

Don't take this decision lightly as you will be spending up to six (6) years in achieving the credential of "doctor". You may want to call some of the professors at each institution to get a good sense of each program and so you can further weigh the pluses and minuses.

The pursuit of the doctoral degree is not for the light hearted but well worth the effort. Take your time in selecting the right PhD University and set yourself up for success. Best of luck on your journey.

Denis Waitly PhD Has Given Us Insight Into The Brain's Own Hidden Secret

PhD Articles : Denis Waitly PhD Has Given Us Insight Into The Brain's Own Hidden Secret by Karen Giardunio

While researching the Internet for information on Denis Waitly it was brought to my attention that there is some question as to the legitimacy of his ability to claim the title of "Dr." Denis Waitly. -So instead of making that my primary focus I felt it would better suite my readers to focus on his unquestionable contributions in the field of science and medicine vs. entertaining the debate relating to his Doctrine Degree. If he has or has not exaggerated his educational credentials is not something I feel the need to investigate or denounce him over -let that go to those who get a kick out of taking others down as that is just not my pace nor is it my directive relating to this article. I feel an accomplishment should be acknowledged and he has many achievements for us to focus our attention on.

We've all had things happen in our lives that have been difficult to negotiate our senses around during our attempt to deal with life inside the bubble of time that the event consumes it's self in. So we must ask the question "Is there a way that we can focus our energy on healing ourselves while in the midst of our dilemma?" Fortunately for us we have Denis Waitly to thank for his discovery that has realized the plain and simple truth of a technically deficient aspect of the human brain; it is not capable of differentiating the truth from the imagined. Now, that in and of its self may not seem like such a big deal but when you learn the science behind this discovery you will see that "imagination essentially trumps" our reality. Denis used highly specialized instrumentation and was able to show that whether or not an athlete was running -the brain couldn't tell difference. The same muscles that were fired off during the moment of actual mobility were stimulated and reacted in the same manner when the athlete sat still in a state of imaginary visualization!

Can you -in any fashion -begin to wrap your brain around the fact that we have more to do to control our reactive responses and reasoning than just focusing on what is presently in front of us at any given moment? Do you see that the next time a negative person, situation or circumstance presents its self to you that you can simply visualize peace, harmony and invest yourself instead in a state of mind that is free from the current tide pulling you into deeper troublesome waters? I am not talking about denial here -I am however taking inner peace and self-restraint and control. The unfortunate fact (or fortunate -for those of us that do not see discord in the world around us) in life is that we are part of a collective whole or group of people that must commune together in social or private settings. So if we offer our minds a secondary option -beyond the here and now we master the moment instead of the moment mastering our state of mind and being.

Denis can be found in The Secret -the hit movie being compared to the brilliance and insight found in What The Bleep Do We Know? He lends his commentary around the subject of visualization and he tells about how the mind can in fact create a clearer more resounding future in our lives. He again uses his expertise in the field of science to explain how a thought has a frequency that can be measured and calibrated using a variety of scientific devices -and how the practice of this truth lends its use and value to the human spirit -and its influence is extraordinary! During this time where Mr. Waitly has been besieged with ridicule, hostile verbal warfare and outright judgment I would like to take this opportunity to make a very important evaluation on the power of the antagonistic, judgmental state of mind one must be in compliance with in order to attack another one of our fellow human beings. To give our own intrinsic authority away to the bitter confines of a hateful and accusatory position does less good to ourselves than to the person we are attempting to discredit.

Further still, when is there a right time to condemn a human being for lying or exaggerating on a personal level when it is his actions -in and around that deception that are in need of full repair and guidance. We embellish on our talents, accomplishments or successes when we are not whole in the understanding of our worth and value as we currently are. Is there then not any room to forgive the lie and assist the liar? I was just wondering where our compassion comes in to help clear the way -to let someone advance themselves from their own deceit so as to turn the situation from a mistake to a lesson well learned. The choice in the end is always and only our own. I however believe we do more to help others -even when they are out right and fully in the wrong by offering options around their falsehood with the intention of understanding through sympathy and resolve than when we just point the finger and judge!

Dr John DeMartini PHD. AB. MA. Wasn't Always Considered Smart

Online PhD Programs Articles : Dr John DeMartini PHD. AB. MA. Wasn't Always Considered Smart by Karen Giardunio

It's funny how some of the most brilliant minds don't start out that way. For those of you not versed in this truth let me name just a few. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates and Henry Ford. These are all great examples of individuals who were not exactly considered to be standout students! Einstein wasn't even talking at the age of 6, Edison was a drop out, Bill gates left college without a degree and Henry Ford was actually taken in to a court room to try to prove him an idiot -no joke it really happened! Dr. Demartini himself was labeled "slow" and was told he'd never read beyond a lower grade school level -or ever amount to much for that matter. Can you imagine being the one telling any of these guys that? What a blow that would be! I'd personally want to crawl into a hole and never come out if I had made such a mistake.

Dr. DeMartini didn't listen to those nay Sayers and lucky for us - he went on to become a Doctor of Chiropractic and Clinical Research. I think that is a marvelous accomplishment considering on top of being labeled with having a learning disability he had so much more to over come. At the age of 14 John dropped out of high school and was homeless, as well as out begging on the streets for anything he could get his hands on as a way just to survive. At 17 he had a near death experience...and that seemingly tragic event served as a catalyst that turned everything in his life around -resulting in a complete 180 degree turn in his thinking, and in the way he had been living his life prior to a near fatal ingestion of strychnine.

When he awoke from that experience, he made a promise to himself to become "a teacher, a healer, and a philosopher." in order to turn things around for himself internally in his mind, body and spirit. These are the reasons he became a Doctor -the "healer" part of his promise, a Speaker "to master the art of teaching" and he also became a student of Philosophy, Science and Theology "to understand our connection with the Divine." He has spent the last 30 years keeping his promise and challenging as well as changing the way most people think on a day-to-day basis. Now his association to The Secret is helping him reach even more people than he had before.

As I was looking in to his past, present and future accomplishments and intentions it struck me -how many other people would have just given up in his shoes? How many of them would have made the type of turn around that Dr. DeMartini did? How many more people are living a life uncontested to their current circumstances? What I mean by that last question is how many people out there are just "settling" for the lives they are living? How many more will never reach their highest potential? How many more will? Johns story can serve as a great testament to the inner strength found deep inside each and every one of us...if we just look deep enough, go down far enough, and reach out high enough I'd be willing to bet the farm we could all succeed in becoming better, happier, and even healthier -in our minds and hearts -you know what I am implying here - after all, those are the places that determine our sense of worth and contentment to begin with! Don't you agree?

Fred Alan Wolf PhD Is the Kooky Guy With the Quirky Personality In the Movies

Online PhD Programs : Fred Alan Wolf PhD Is the Kooky Guy With the Quirky Personality In the Movies: The Secret &What The Bleep by Karen Giardunio

This guy is my favorite -hands down -I really love Fred Alan! He is so brilliant intellectually speaking and so rich in personality and presence. Here is a scientist whose disposition betrays the general tonality of the typical scientific Academic. The usually reserved, even- tempered and monotonous chacteristics of his fellow associates don't even come close to his vibrant, explosive, and animated way of engaging a subject. He just exhumes a vibe of jovial contentment in every single word he speaks. His apparent love of and for Quantum Physics is always evident by the tones and inflections in his voice as well as in his body language. I find him sincere in his impressions of the world and the vital role we all play in it because of his infectious spirit.

Considering the mass acclaim he has received as an author of not just 1 but many books in the field of Science and Mysticism he still presents a humble spirit. One book entitled THE EAGLE'S QUEST: A PHYSICIST'S SEARCH FOR TRUTH IN THE HEART OF THE SHAMANIC WORLD shows how broad he is in the different types of subject matter he is interested in embracing. That is further evidenced in his 7th book THE DREAMING UNIVERSE that was described as "The most important book on the nature and significance of dreams since Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams." Even the New York Times book review called this mans work "Brilliant..." His second book TAKING THE QUANTUM LEAP made him the recipient of the American Book Award for Science! The accolades just go on and on for this guys literary talents.

His book entitled THE SPIRITUAL UNIVERSE tries to cover the very definition of "The Soul" and as he explains..."its agent -the spirit" he also attempts to examine the differences between subjective and objective perspectives in order to convey some type of grounded, scientific format to present his evaluations and the complexities therein. It masterfully weaves in and out of the philosophical, the practical and the spiritual in a way that very few individuals could ever pull off. Given the fact that he covers the quantum level of approach he is able to accomplish its virtue and reverence quite well...after all, that particular field of science gives us all "an infinite field of unlimited possibilities" The mere fact that at that finite degree of evaluation is so fantastical simply because of its vast and endless contradictions and truths that allow for "an anything goes...or is possible rather" form of accuracy help him to convey the otherwise unexplainable, which naturally betrays the normal confinements found in other equally grounded, and proven areas of science. What I mean by that is at the very smallest (or quantum) level of being all the normal rules of structure and law begin to collapse in on themselves and all the general truths go flying out the door because there suddenly becomes a breakdown in how things "behave" in the field of Quantum physics and that itself allows for an immediate contradiction in the way the normal laws of the universe conduct themselves! What I am saying is on one side of the coin there are strict laws that cannot be defied. On the other side the rules literally vanish and things "do their own thing" if you will. Complex beyond belief isn't it?

Okay, now the cat is out of the bag, it is quite clear that I am a fan of all levels and venues of science. Einstein is my hero and I love even more that through the science of Quantum Physics, I can merge my faith in a higher being with the truths of science. I have always believed that instead of Science disproving God it was going to be forced to acknowledge his existence in the long run. For those of you not in alignment with that -read some of Stephen Hawkins material and you'll think twice I assure you! He started out angry with God because of the illness that took his mobility away and confined him to a wheelchair. He cannot speak with out the use of a special device and he set out to prove there is no God-in the end he found himself a believer and that experience alone completely transformed his life and the way he saw things from then on as well!

For those of you who are also Einstein admirers -yes I am aware that he hated the science of Quantum Physics -literally he despised it! What can I say to that except I am just too open to not appreciate that particular field of science...Sorry Mr. Einstein, no offense it's just that I too have a naturally rebellious nature. I cannot help that fact for it is an innate part of my being! That having been said, I can still stand behind the opening lines of this article. I really do love Fred Alan's work and take on things. In fact for me personally, he shares the one elusive spot once only reserved for my idol Albert Einstein! ...Now that's Love (Chuckle, Chuckle.).

The Essential Facts Every Student Should Know About Taking A PhD Online

Online PhD Programs : The Essential Facts Every Student Should Know About Taking A PhD Online by Wade Robins

The highest achievement anyone could make in his or her academic career is completing a PhD, otherwise known as a doctorate. There is no higher qualification available unless you go on to teach in an academic institution. However, all PhD students are pledging to commit to possibly the hardest and most tiring task they will ever undertake. You have to eat, sleep and breathe your PhD course in order to pass it. It is somewhat surprising, therefore, that online colleges or universities now offer PhD programs as a part of their curriculum.

Accredited online PhD degrees are just as tough as campus based ones, if not more so. Although they retain the degree of flexibility that any online program affords students, accredited online PhD degrees require a lot more time and dedication. You can communicate with an assigned tutor and take online classes, but you are essentially on your own. Online colleges or universities expect extreme dedication and intellectual ability simply because less than 1% of the world's population actually achieves the honor.

The general course content of an accredited online PhD is exactly the same as a campus based PhD. Every PhD student must specialize in a certain area of academia, from physics to literature to business. Within that subject they should then choose one element or group of elements to research and enhance their knowledge on. Campus students are expected to present their findings in a dissertation and oral presentation. They will be comprehensively questioned in the latter to make sure that their knowledge is suitably extensive. To some extent, online colleges and universities also follow these requirements.

Accredited online PhD degrees differ from the normal online degree structure. Although the majority of the degree program, including core and elective classes, continue online as normal, most online colleges or universities insist upon personal attendance to progress meetings, or colloquia. The meetings tend to last at least a week and thus the student is required to be a resident during that period. Capella University is one of the schools that require attendance, justifying it as a necessary evil to ensure that students are progressing and actively working toward their goal.

Accredited online PhD degrees are not only more expensive, costing around $4000 per quarter for tuition, they also last a lot longer than regular online degrees. Most programs are expected to last between four and eight years, although some accelerated learning online colleges and universities aim to get their students through it in two to three years.

It is thoroughly necessary to seriously consider what an accredited online PhD degree will cost you, in terms of freedom and energy, before committing to one. Bachelor degrees online have nothing on these courses. You have to be serious about your education otherwise you will fall flat on your face. However, online PhDs do still allow a sense of freedom and flexibility that may well be welcome when you face such a momentous task.

I'm So Glad I'm Not A Loser I Got My PhD In Money At Success University

Online PhD Programs : I'm So Glad I'm Not A Loser I Got My PhD In Money At Success University by B Rich

You know what; thoughts of being a loser have always seemed to hunt me down like a pack of misfortune. I couldn't have the right job; get the right girl let alone driving the fancy car of my choice. All I seemed to get was crumbs and this actually got to the point where I was comfortable about being a loser, I accepted every card I was dealt whether good or bad, I was just breathing to be everyone's doormat.

Something had to change, I told my self, no more and this time I really meant it! No more settling for second best, I am going to live my life the way I want to live it. The thing that was giving me so much drive to succeed was jealousy, Yep, pure green envy jealousy, for this kid who was a nobody, his status was even below my loser mentality, but in a matter of couple of weeks he had become a high flyer just from the internet, and I had to find out how he did it. Man, if a dumb ass like that can get rich in a matter of weeks from the internet, I can do it too; I mean how hard could it be.

Instead of surfing for porn that night, I googled for every term about making money on the internet, you know, phrases like GIVE ME THE MONEY NOW, MAKE ME RICH TODAY and every other money making scheme I could think of. Man!!! I hit the jackpot; there were tons of ways to make money on the internet for losers like me. It is so easy all I have to do is be someone's affiliate and the money will come rolling, bummer is, I need a website. Wait, hey here's something, for $49 The Guy Who Made A Billion From A Million will show me how to make my first million tomorrow, All for $49 dollars, wait what's this, Limited number of books only two copies left Buy Now!! So I borrowed my mom's credit card, told her your son's going to get rich and bought How I Made A Billion from a Million let me show you your first million tomorrow. I couldn't wait to get rich. Ok people! This is not what I expected, a stupid pdf file, that's all I get., 60 pages of BS, does that dummy think I have time to read this crap, I just want to get rich and he promised to make me a million $ by tomorrow. And now what's this bonus, Oh my God more books, with more pages. I need to punch someone, and if it's not the jerk who sold me this crap, it's the rich kid from my block for scamming people, no one can make money from reading a stupid book, and it's a lie.

My mom broke my ranting and raving, told me to shut and go sulk somewhere else, she doesn't even know why she believed a loser like me could make anything great of himself. That hurt, but anyway I went down to the pub to drown my remorse. On my third refill, the barman looks at me and says, I know that look, "what look" I asked half angry. He laughed and said "you bought the book didn't you; I can see it in your face", he carried on about some kid who came in the bar a couple of months ago looking down just like me and rambling about some stupid worthless book, So I asked him, what happened to the kid and he said "that same loser, is worth millions now, unbelievable" he found all of that in that book, "plus some school he goes to on the net" echoed the guy sipping a Heineken in the next stool. That night I couldn't get to sleep, I had to find out how he did it.

The more I snooped around to find the truth, the more I saw people just like me duplicating that rich kid and getting rich. The only way for me to find out was to join this school to riches; I took the plunge, paid a $2 dollar registration for 14 days and went to class. This was more than I expected, I was being coached by the most influential people of our time for just $2. The bonuses were real videos and audio tapes that guided me step by step to achieve my dreams. The best part was, immediately as I joined people just started pouring into my downline from my upline.

Ok! Even though school has turned me from a lazy, doubtful loser into being rich, I'm not complaining at all and guess what? I LOVE BEING RICH.

Ps. the book that sent me to the bar was actually really helpful, after I read it.

Where should you start to look?

The Internet offers potential students all of the features of both a big and a small town or city. Using a good search engine will bring you right up to the community of your choice. Psy D and PhD Offer Different Opportunities for Doctorate Students

Online PhD Programs Articles : Psy D and PhD Offer Different Opportunities for Doctorate Students by Search For Classes

The emergence of the Psy D degree in recent years has brought about change in the way psychology students approach earning a doctorate degree. A traditional PhD program focuses on the scholar-practitioner model while Psy D programs are aimed at those who wish to tailor their careers less toward research and more toward clinical and counseling psychology.

Recognized by the American Psychological Association, Psy D programs have steadily grown in popularity since their acceptance into mainstream academia. As PhD graduates in the field of psychology often enter into purely research oriented, clinical and research or teaching positions, the need for a program that could adequately prepare graduate students for the specialized area of clinical and counseling psychology has been ever present. Many who earned PhD programs before the advent of the Psy D program found entering the profession in a counseling capacity to be difficult. Simply meeting state licensure requirements and setting up a private practice or working for an established practice does not a clinical or counseling psychologist make.

The extensive coursework and dissertation work involved in a doctor of psychology degree program is geared toward the hands on instruction of the "Vail model" as opposed to the "Boulder model" associated with a PhD in psychology. The Vail model is named after a national training conference held in Vail, Colorado in 1973, which resulted from a disagreement from an earlier conference traditionally held in Boulder, Colorado (hence, the Boulder model). The Vail attendees endorsed an alternative training model that would be used to distinguish the scientist role from the clinical and counseling practitioner role.

In its earliest stages, the Psy D program was only offered by private colleges and universities. Today, several state schools offer Psy D degree programs in addition to the traditional PhD in psychology. Public University Psy D programs are some of the most competitive of all available doctorate degree options as a result of their relative newness. Entering classes at some institutions can be as few as 5 to 10 students, compared to substantially larger numbers for well established PhD programs.

As of this writing, Psy D degree programs from any accredited institution are accepted by licensing boards from all 50 states. Recognition from the APA, state licensing boards and the American Board of Professional Psychology is a good indication of level of acceptance regarding the validity of Psy D programs from the profession as a whole.
